“…About a month ago, I had accidentally burned the pants of a rather expensive suit. Two of my local cleaners in Brooklyn told me that the pants were ‘done’. Luckily, I thought to call the store where it had been purchased (Paul Stewart) who immediately said that the only place to send such a problem was to Madame Paulette…” Read more

“Olive Oil on her pantsuit. Someone who’d lived in New York longer would have heard of the Professional Stain Remover Kit from Upper East Side dry cleaner Madame Paulette. Each travel-sized kit contains three separate chemical formulas. You choose which to use depending on the stain (oil = solution number three) then play mad scientist, dabbing on the top-secret ingredients in sequence. Ten minutes later you’re stain-free and feeling inordinately pleased with yourself.”

“Let’s say you dropped $70K on some Lanvin couture. Then you spilled molten chocolate cake all over it. You’re not just going to run that baby down to the steamy dry cleaner on the corner, are you? No. Madame Paulette is your only option, really. If you have clothes delicate or expensive enough to warrant the four-star treatment, then you probably already know all about this local wonder. If you haven’t already been, what are you waiting for?”
— The Village Voice, NY City Guide

“…Madame Paulette Dry Cleaners (a place where shirts are treated like the Shroud of Turin.) Chop shops have to do 60-80 shirts and hour to make a profit. We’re lucky if we finish 30 in the same time.”

Dear John,
Thank you so much for the wonderful presentation with great “stained” stories and vital information for the cleaning and care of our garments. Coat floor sales associate Azelia Crisostomo won the Madame Paulette surprise package on our last Saturday meeting when the raffle took place.
I fully appreciate our continued relationship between Madame Paulette and Burberry - as do our clients.

Dear David,
Enrique and Dan were excellent. They moved everything with care, did their work carefully and at just the right pace and then put everything back almost exactly where it was. I’m impressed! I’ll be expecting them next Thursday.

I have sent, to you, a black Gucci leather jacket. Not sure what can be done and how well it can be cleaned. If anyone can get it cleaned, it would be your facility.
Russ W.
Madame Paulette is good for extremely delicate, extremely high priced, extremely irreplaceable couture pieces, that you wouldn’t want tossed in and cleaned with 100 other pieces that don’t even belong to you. I prize them for their pick up and delivery and they have always been on time. I once took a pair of Gucci embroidered leather pants there to have them cleaned and repaired. They were ready in 3 days, when I was told 2 weeks. I was very impressed with the job they did. They also cost half of what I was originally told they would. I have an identical pair to the aforementioned leather pants, sans embroidery. They are there now, being cleaned of ink stains, and being slightly stretched at the waist so they will ride lower on the hips. The fact that they can do this makes me much more confident that anything I take there will be treated with great care. Now I won’t send normal, everyday wear shirts, pants, etc. here, only extremely rare and delicate pieces. They come recommended to me by Chanel, which speaks volume.

The only place I, and many of my fellow designers would trust their most delicate, expensive and prized creations. Did you drop and tear your $50K Monique Lhuillier gown in the mud? This might be the only establishment you can cry to…Not cheap, but your couture piece is truly that, it won’t matter.
